Well, the journey to Wormhaut was fairly uneventful, but made all the more enjoyable by not having Callidus (how pleasant not to have to say "my Master") breathing over my shoulder all the time. It will be most interesting to be able to do my own work in my own laboratory for once, free of his interference.
Wormhaut seems pleasant enough; it is obviously a well-established covenant. I thought I might get some interesting conversation with Vera Ex Bonisagus, but it transpires that she is a follower of Trianoma. Each to their own, I suppose. Cornelius Ex Verditius seems obsessed with creating "thinking" automata. Why, I do not understand. Surely if you want something done you ask a servant, you don't spend precious time and resources making a new one.
Tethys Ex Jerbiton seems quite, well, distracted. She did not impress me with her "plans" for the new covenant - apparently she will create two towers, and will transport her own laboratory there through the means of magic. She seems to have failed to realise that her new fellow members of the covenant will need laboratories as well. Her plans for income and resources seem to rely on our Bjornaer hunting for food, and some packets of seeds. Oh yes, I suppose I should mention my fellow new Magi, if they can be called that. Martin Ex Bjornaer seems to be almost incapable of holding a civilised conversation, restricting himself to one word answers. Still, I have come to expect little else from a non-Roman tradition. Valeri Ex Tremere surprises me, however. Those of his House I have met before have seemed fairly competent Magi, and have a good grasp of language and communication. Valeri on the other hand seems even more distracted than Tethys, and his responses bear no relation to the question. He appears to be an Intellego specialist - that will be useful I have no doubt, assuming we are able to understand his communication of what he has perceived.
Anyway, back to Tethys's plans. We appear to be turning up with little else other than a passing competent cook and some spices. It seems everything else we will simply "create". I trust as a seemingly very old Maga she is capable of casting all these spells. Time will tell.
We boarded the White Ship, and set sail. Then it all went wrong - I'm surprised it took that long, to be honest. Whilst at dinner, suddenly it got extremely cold (even through my Ignem Form) and it appeard that Martin, Valeri and I were the only ones not frozen solid. We rushed out on deck, to discover that we had entered some sort of Faerie Regio, with the sea frozen solid and the goat we were transporting licking some sort of ice giant. This reminded me somewhat of something I heard about a Norse creation myth, but we were distracted from discussing this thoroughly by being attacked by some shapechanging faerie, which began attacking the goat. Valeri and Martin focused on this, while I tried melting the giant with a Pilum of Fire. The upshot of all this was that we were in some sort of reenactment of the creation of the world (which appears to be made from goat dung, appropriately enough) which "went wrong" - apparently Tethys knew we would be in some sort of Faerie Trod to Elysium, and wanted it to "go right" so that we had the favour of three of the Muses. Nice of her to let us know.
So, here we are on dry land. With a beached ship, that apparently Tethys only rented. And we don't have the favour of the Muses upon which Tethys was relying. It's all going well so far...
