1.2 Time Management and Organizing Activities
Time management is crucial at UNP Labschool to ensure that each part of the lesson plan is covered within the allotted class time. Here are some strategies used to manage time effectively:
Structured Lesson Plan : Teachers prepare detailed lesson plans with specific time allocations for each section (introduction, presentation, practice, and assessment). This helps teachers stay on track and ensures that all learning objectives are met within the class period.
Transition Management : To minimize time lost between activities, teachers give clear instructions before moving on to the next part of the lesson. For instance, teachers may ask students to prepare their materials or organize themselves into groups in advance to reduce downtime.
Pacing Adjustments : Teachers monitor students’ engagement and understanding during the lesson, adjusting the pacing as necessary. If students are struggling, the teacher may slow down or revisit key points. For faster learners, the teacher may introduce additional challenges or enrichment activities.
Efficient Use of Materials : Teachers prepare all resources (projector, handouts, etc.) before the lesson begins to avoid wasting time during class. This preparation ensures smooth transitions and a well-organized flow of activities.
