1.2 Procedures of Practicum
The practicum procedures were organized to ensure a smooth and comprehensive learning experience for participants. Here’s an outline of the steps followed :
The practicum began with an orientation where participants were introduced to the school, its staff, and its facilities. This initial phase provided an overview of the school's policies, teaching methodologies, and educational values.
In the first few days, participants observed experienced teachers to understand the teaching methods and classroom culture at UNP Labschool. This observation period allowed participants to familiarize themselves with the students and the school’s routines.
After the observation phase, participants were required to create lesson plans under the guidance of their mentor teachers. The lesson plans were designed to align with the school’s curriculum and meet the learning needs of the students.
Participants conducted classes based on their lesson plans, implementing various teaching methods to engage students and achieve lesson objectives. Throughout this phase, they received feedback from mentor teachers, which helped them improve their teaching techniques.
At the end of the practicum, participants reflected on their experiences and received evaluations from their mentors. This final phase provided valuable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement.
