Notes for SALLY CIMBAL:

My Mother-in-law, Edna Alsup, once told me that Sally's maiden name was Colbert or Corbitt, but the marriage license clearly states Cimbal. I can find no trace of any family by the name of Cimbal in Benton Co, TN. I was told by my Mother-in-law that Sally had beautiful red hair. Sally was struck by lightening & killed as she was taking clothes down off a metal clothesline in a small rain cloud.

Bond and Mary Cooper, married 27 Nov 1867, Benton Co, TN. On 1880 census Lizzie Bond was 12 yrs. On 1900 census, she said she was 31 yrs and on 1920 census, she said she was 48 yrs.

Robert Franklin "Bob" Alsup, 75, of St. Louis, formerly of Newbern, died Tuesday, September 5th at his residence. He was retired from Brown Shoe Co. and was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War 11, serving with the 318th Infantry, 80th Division, 3rd Army under Gen. George Patton. He was a member of Teamster Local 688 and a member and usher of Third Baptist Church for 50 years.

A viewing was held on September 6th at the Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday (8th) in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home in Newbern with the Rev. Danny Klutts officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He leaves five sisters, Opal Ladd, Mollie Dunaway and Ida Keith, all of Newbern, Martha Rogers of Cahokia, Ill., and Ruby Johnson of Hazelwood, Mo., and a brother Steve of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents William F. and Cara (McCool) Alsup.

Mary Jane Moore, 80, retired employee of Colonial Rubber, after 25 years, died of a heart attack Wednesday at Methodist Hospital, Dyersburg, TN. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday Morning at Dyersburg Funeral Home with buried in Fairhaven Cemetery. She was a member of First Assembly of God Chruch, Women's Missionary Council and Colonial Rubber Bowling League. Mrs. Moore, wife of Doyle Moore also leaves a daughter Linda White of Saratoga, FL; a son Dennis Moore of Panama City, FL; five sisters, Rubye Johnson of St. Louis, MO, Mabel Rodgers of Cahokia, IL, Opal Ladd and Mollie Dunaway and Ida Keith, all of Newbern, TN; two brothers, Robert Alsup and Steve Alsup, both of St. Louis, MO; Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
