Graduation Requirements
Students in the state of Ohio are required to meet coursework, testing, and college and career readiness objectives in order to be awarded a high school diploma. Please see the breakdown below.

Course Work (Basic)

Testing (Competency)
All students in Ohio must take and pass the End of Course Exam for Algebra I and English II.
(Passing score is 684)
Seals (Readiness)
Students at NOCA must also earn a combination of TWO of the following seals in order to receive a high school diploma:
*College Readiness Seal
ACT Passing Scores: English 18, Reading 22, and Math 22
SAT Passing Scores: Reading and Writing 480, and Math 530
Service Seal (Service/ Leadership)
Students at NOCA are encouraged and expected to complete 24 hours of service in grades 9-12 annually. Service should be geared towards helping those in need in the community. Service hours should be recorded on the Community Service Hour Log and be submitted to Mrs. Desmond by May 15th each year.

Corresponding forms, research and evaluations must be complete by at least three mentors in two of the following categories: school, work, community.
Students may earn additional seals, however the state mandates that each student acquires two seals (one state defined and one locally defined). Seals will be placed on diplomas and transcripts as mandated by the Ohio Department of Education.

Senior Thesis
Seniors at NOCA will have the opportunity to author a senior thesis paper ranging from 7-10 pages on a topic of their choice. Students must defend their paper in front of a panel of advisors as part of their capstone experience.
