At NOCA, all students in grades 9–12 are invited to attend free luncheons where guest speakers come and dialogue with students in a small group setting. While the students eat their lunch, speakers share exactly what it is that they do for a career. Speakers provide students with great insight on particular steps that they took to get to where they are today. Moreover, students are able to have candid discussions with presenters and direct questions to real professionals while on the NOCA campus.
Speakers generally speak to the following:
Educational Journey
Needed Degrees, Credentials, Certifications
Professional Environment
Career Decision Making Process
Typical Day at Work
Pros and Cons of Working in the Industry
Occupational Outlook for the Future
Advice for the Future Based Upon Trends
