Career Development is an important consideration as students progress through school. By exploring and learning about careers in the primary and middle school years, students are more prepared to make an informed decision once the time comes to decide on a major in college. To support students in their discovery of self and knowledge of careers, NOCA offers career preparation programming aimed at supporting their students in grades 6-12 (as required by the state of Ohio).
NOCA’s College and Career Counselor will meet with students at least once a year.
Workshops will be offered that teach professional skills such as resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, networking strategies, and LinkedIn use.
Lunch and Learn events are free luncheons where guest speakers come and dialogue with students in grades 9-12.
Students will complete a Career Exploration Project in which they will shadow and report on one to three careers of their choice.
