People wanting to discredit the Bible love to claim that there are numerous contradictions. It is not difficult finding lists of contradictions on the internet. Obviously, the Bible cannot be inspired or trusted if it contradicts itself.
It has to be acknowledged that there are difficulties in the Bible and there are passages that seem to contradict other passages. However, are they really contradictions or is there an explanation that does not require logical gymnastics? Do some of the supposed claims really just indicate that those making them do not know how to read a book like the Bible? In fact, sometimes the critics take a much more literal approach to the Bible than any Christian would, failing to understand figurative language etc.
