Ed Harris

Biography  C.E. “Ed” Harris is well known to readers of American Rifleman, the Gun Digest and the Cast Bullet Association’s Fouling Shot magazine. During his 12 years on the Technical Staff of the National Rifle Association, he was a consultant to numerous military, law enforcement and firearms industry groups. Ed was officially commended by the U.S. Marine Corps Development Center, Quantico, Virginia for expert technical assistance provided during the Development and Operational Testing of the M16A2 rifle.  From 1984-87 Ed worked in Sturm-Ruger’s Engineering Department in Newport, NH where he was Quality Assurance Manager, being involved in developmental testing of the GP100 and Super Redhawk revolvers, Mini-14 Ranch Rifle, Mini-30 carbine and special order preparation for export and government customers. Ed is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, holds the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Professional Development Certification in Emergency Management and is retired after for 22 years of local government service in Northern Virginia.  He is now retired “outside the Moderate Damage Radius” in “Almost Heaven, West Virginia,” where he enjoys the Sounds of Freedom daily, coming from the Peacemaker National Training Center as well as from overflying C17s of the 167th Airlift Wing of the West Virginia Air National Guard.
