Day 11

Let's create paper creatures that magically glide over cardboard!

Materials needed (not limited to):

  • Marble

  • Paper

  • Scissors

  • Tape

  • Cardboard

Step1 -

Create a shape with paper that is hollow. You can make a tube, a brick, or any funky shape. You can use a toilet paper roll for your creature as well.

Step 2 -

Decorate your creature! Time to get creative and explore different materials.

Step 3 -

Hide a marble inside the shape. The marble should have no way to escape your creature's belly.

Step 4 -

Place your creature and the marble on a flat surface that you can manipulate. A sheet of cardboard is ideal. Watch how your creature glides around when you tilt the surface!

Troubleshooting -

If you creature doesn't move or simply fall when you tilt the cardboard, think about the repartition of weight. If the top of your creature is heavier than the bottom, it will likely fall. You can also play around with the surface at the bottom of you creature. Have fun experimenting, playing, and learning!
