Upcycling For The Holidays

Happy Holidays, when celebrating, think about ways to create with upcycling. Give the gift of being kinder to the environment ! These projects can be done with family and students to celebrate any holiday !

Project One) Upcycling Glass Jars

Materials

glass container to recycle/reuse, Modge Podge, scotch tape, paint brush, napkin, note: napkin design can change for different occasions

Glass

Remove the label from a glass jar. Do not throw it away upcycle it.

moDGE pODGE

Use the paintbrush to spread Modge Podge across its surface.

Napkin

Take a napkin apart and separate by using a piece of scotch tape. Napkins come in two and three layers. This project requires the outermost layer.

Apply

Apply the napkin, place Modge Podge on the outside, and let dry. Be careful the napkin can tear be gentle. The Modge Podge will dry, I promise.

End results

Enjoy your upcycled holiday ! Decorate your glassware for birthdays, holidays, and home decor !

Project 2) The Hula Hoop Wreath , repurpose that hula hoop !

materials

hula hoop, zip ties, pine garland (garland can be substituted based upon celebration) This tip also saves you $$. Holiday wreaths are expensive ! The garland was $5.00 !

Assemble

Use the zip ties to secure the pine garland to the hula hoop.

Complete

Once you have secured the pine garland with the zip ties decorate the wreath with ornaments, ribbon, and any items of your choice. Make sure friends and family assist in decorating!

end results

Decorate your "Holiday Wreath" hang it on your door or give it away as a gift ! Get ready to celebrate with family and friends.
