Once at the Games, internal transportation will be managed by the Host Society via shuttle buses.
Ensure to look at the following points so your trip to the Games will be smooth and easy! Expand the below sections to learn more:
BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME
As you get ready for your flight, here are a few things you can do to prepare at home and get travel ready.
Flight manifest: your travel information including your given name, DOB and gender was provided to AMEX and is the official placeholder for the airlines. You will require your Government-issued ID to check-in and board the airplane. Your name MUST match the name on your photo ID that will be used to check-in.
Check your passport or Government-issued ID to make sure it’s not expired, and meets current ID requirements that includes name, date of birth and gender.
While ID is not required under the law for children between the ages of 12 and 17, you may be refused boarding if you appear under 12 and don’t have proof of age, or appear 18 years of age or older. As such, we recommend traveling with a photocopy of your birth certificate or non-government ID (e.g., a student card or health care card) that includes date of birth and gender.
Bring your Sask Health Card
Review baggage size allowances (please see Packing below)
Pack hand sanitizer
If you plan to wear a mask indoors remember to pack some.
Double check with your coach and manager for arrival time at the airport. Arrive early to get yourself settled, security lines may be longer than usual.
PACKING
One personal luggage bag tagged with a provided luggage tag, labelled "Village";
We encourage you to bring one or two books in your checked luggage for the PEI Literacy Alliance!

Ensure to pack all prescriptions, a change of clothes, your competition uniform, Team Sask uniform, and any other necessities within your carry-on luggage!

If you are flying on a Charter Plane, bring up the photo of your bag tag and let your coach know. Please send a description of your lost luggage, bag tag, name, phone number, address, etc. via e-mail to jean-paul.varnaitis@aexp.com or sfleming@canadagames.ca as soon as possible and they will assist with the recovery of item and ensure that it is resolved quickly.
AT THE GAMES
The participant bus system will operate in two ways: team sports will have dedicated buses and individual sports will have a sport-specific bus.
There will be a dedicated transportation loop at the Athletes’ Village for transportation to the competition venues.
Initial departure times from the Athletes’ Village will be scheduled to allow the participants to arrive at the venue 1-1.5 hours prior to the start of competition, 30 minutes prior to practice, and depart 30 minutes after competition or practice. These times are sport specific.
For Opening and Closing Ceremonies, participants will be transported on dedicated Provincial/Territorial buses to the venue (Opening/ Closing: Eastlink Centre, Charlottetown). Participants will be transported back to University of Prince Edward Island using a "load and go" bus system.
There will be an athlete shuttle system for spectating athletes who wish to watch other competitions when their schedule allows:
Participants can board the athlete shuttles from the athlete bus load zone. The shuttle will service the competition venues in a loop on a regular schedule, which will be published in the Athlete Handbook and available at the Village Information Centre.
SPORT COMPETITION INTERNAL TRANSPORTATION SCHEDULE
This transportation schedule is VERY IMPORTANT and specific to your sport (please see the sport tabs at the bottom of the excel spreadsheet). You will need to ensure you check this schedule everyday as it is updated live!
