MISSION STAFF
Mission staff are integral members of Team Sask 2023. They’re a dedicated group of sport volunteers and professionals who are responsible for the overall management of Team Sask prior to and during the Games. They act as a link between the team, staff, the host society, and all the volunteers that work behind the scenes to organize the Games in Prince Edward Island.
Most members of the mission staff are assigned to sports and work on behalf of Team Sask so that athletes, coaches and managers can focus on competing to the best of their abilities and enjoy their 2023 Canada Winter Games experience. Mission staff handle any issues that may come up, answer questions or concerns, and of course, act as your biggest cheerleader! #GoTeamSask
In addition to one or more Mission Staff per sport, there is also a Chef de Mission and two Assistant Chefs de Mission. These indviduals have been involved in the planning stages of the Games since the beginning and are considered to be the “team captains” of Team Sask. A core group of Mission Staff are responsible for Team Operations and Communications, which includes the organizing of transportation, registration, accommodations, team uniforms, pins, social media, the website, media relations, photography, and more.
Team Sask is also bringing a full Integrated Support Team to Prince Edward Island. This team includes a Medical Liaison, who is responsible to communicate medical concerns or issues to the Chef de Mission and host; a Sport Dietitian, who will work with each team at the start of each phase to ensure their nutrition supports peak performance; and a Mental Performance Consultant, who is available to teams and individuals upon request before and during the Games.
If you see any of these faces at your practices or in the crowd during Games time, don't hesitate to wave!
All Mission Staff have completed their Respect in Sport and CCES Anti-Doping training.
