Geography
The Local Area
Visit to the Worthing coastline to identify how the local area has changed geographically over time with a focus on the pier.
Visit a local landmark (High Salvington Windmill) and understand how physical geography (weather and seasons) can impact human geography, revising language learnt about weather in Autumn 1 such as gale, wind, breeze and gust.
Begin to use basic geographical vocabulary to refer to key physical features of the local area and the UK: beach, forest, hill, sea, season and weather.
Know the main differences between a village and a town through a case study of Findon Village and Worthing.
Use aerial photos and maps to recognise landmarks and basic human and physical features of Worthing beach and the pier (field trip).
