Students can focus on completing an assigned lesson rather than on how to access the lesson or how to submit it.
Learning Coaches can be efficient in their monitoring and coaching efforts, which benefits the student and the Learning Coach.
To ensure all of the Canvas training has been completed, follow the steps below. (You will also apply some of the Canvas skills that you learned. √)
Log in to the student's Canvas account. (If you are not sure which Canvas account you are in -- student's account vs. the Observer's account -- click the Account button at the top of the green navigation bar on the left side of the Canvas window. Check the name of the account owner.)
Click to open the Student Training course card.
Click the Modules link at the top of the subject's home page or click the button that says "I'm just starting at UVA!" You will be taken back to the training activities.
Look for green checkmarks to the right of each lesson in the student training module.
A green checkmark indicates the assignment was viewed or submitted.
If you do not see a green checkmark for some of the activities, it means they have not been viewed or submitted.
Ensure the student completes the assignments that do not have a green checkmark. Just click the lesson's link to open it.
NOTE:
If you do not see any green checkmarks, verify that you are in the student's Canvas account and not in the Learning Coach's Observer account. Log in to the student's Canvas account if required and repeat the steps above. If you still don't see green checkmarks, the Learning Coach should contact the Learning Coach Support team for assistance via Remind or by calling one of the team members.
