To minimize confusion and technical issues, refer to the instructions on this page from the beginning until the end. Otherwise, you will go too far in the Student Training course and start completing activities that are not designed for a mobile phone.
(IMPORTANT -- If the student does not have the school laptop at this point, please have the Learning Coach notify the Learning Coach Support team immediately. Laptops should have been delivered by now. Contact information is at the bottom of this page.)
STEP 1. Log in to the Student's Canvas account
If you are not logged in already, log into the student's account. Refer to the following page for a refresher on how to log in to the student's account on a mobile device.
NOTE:
When you click the link below, it will open in a new tab. Follow the instructions on that page and log in to the student's account. Then come back to this browser tab to follow Steps 2 thru 5 below. You will have to switch back and forth between the tabs so you can see the instructions on this page and perform them in the student's Canvas account. Contact the Learning Coach Support team if you need assistance.
STEP 2. Locate the Student Training course card
Scroll past any announcements on the Home page of the student's Canvas account, and look for a course card that says "Student Training."
STEP 3. Open the "Student Training" course
Click once on the ""Student Training card to open the course.
Course card screenshots are shown for all three school levels -- Elementary, Middle, and High School -- in the screenshot. Only one Student Training course card will be on the student's Home page.
STEP 4. Scroll down and click the button that says, "I'm just starting at UVA!"
The button is just below the UVA logo and Lynx mascot on the page.

STEP 5. Complete the first two activities in the Student Training course and stop there. (It is important that you stop after completing the second activity. The remaining activities must be completed on a computer. They cannot be performed on a mobile phone. The laptop is on its way.)
Remember, you must complete the Student Training course. You are only pausing your training because you are on a mobile device. Lessons cannot begin until the student has completed the Student Training course in Canvas.
NOTE:
If you have difficulty finding the page with the navigation links in the sidebar or via the three-bar menu located in the upper left hand corner of the page, the Learning Coach should ask the Learning Coach Support team for assistance to resume the course.
