Terdapat beberapa inisiatif kelestarian oleh FABU telah dilaksanakan sepanjang 2023. Inisiatif-inisiatif tersebut dilaksanakan dalam pelbagai peringkat merangkumi UTM, Negeri, Nasional, dan Antarabangsa. Lebih 10 Inisiatif-inisiatif bagi setiap peringkat dilaksanakan secara penganjuran, penyertaan dan kerjasama/ kolaborasi dalam aktiviti/ program berkaitan kelestarian. Inisiatif-inisiatif yang dibuat dalam bentuk seminar, lawatan sambil belajar, MoU, karnival, ceramah, perkongsian kepakaran, dan lain-lain adalah berkait langsung dengan SDG.

Makmal Hidup UTM-JPNJ telah mengadakan satu mesyuarat bersama Jabatan Perhutanan Negeri Johor (JPNJ)

This visit aims to understand urban planning and infrastructure development in creating sustainable and inclusive cities.
The sixth activity, "Lawatan tapak ke University of Reading Malaysia untuk tujuan pengurusan aset dan fasiliti GFM Services Bhd" (Site visit to the University of Reading Malaysia for asset and facility management purposes by GFM Services Bhd), can be linked to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. This visit focuses on understanding efficient and sustainable management of assets and facilities.
The seventh activity, "Lawatan teknikal pelajar-pelajar harta tanah tahun 3 ke tapak projek pembinaan di bawah pengurusan KPRJ E&C Sdn Bhd, anak syarikat Kerajaan Negeri Johor" (Technical visit of third year real estate students to a construction project site under the management of KPRJ E&C Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Johor State Government), relates to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. This visit aims to study construction projects and their impact on local communities and infrastructure development.
The eighth activity, "Lawatan Delegasi dari YBhg Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, Presiden & Ketua Eksekutif JCORP ke Fakulti Alam Bina dan Ukur" (Delegation visit from YBhg Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, President & CEO of JCORP to the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying), aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education. This visit focuses on fostering partnerships between industry and academia to enhance education and skills development in the built environment sector.
The final activity, "Makmal Hidup UTM-JPNJ telah mengadakan satu mesyuarat bersama Jabatan Perhutanan Negeri Johor (JPNJ)" (UTM-JPNJ Living Laboratory has held a meeting with the Johor State Forestry Department), is connected to SDG 15: Life on Land. This meeting aims to discuss and collaborate on conservation and sustainable management of forest resources.

Lawatan Akademik dari Program Senibina, Universitas Udayana, Indonesia ke Fakulti Alam Bina dan Ukur telah berlangsung pada 20 Mei 2024. Lawatan melibatkan seramai 26 orang delegasi yang terdiri daripada 7 orang Pensyarah dan 19 mahasiswa dari program pascasiswazah Universitas Udayana. Delegasi diketuai oleh Dr. Ni Ketut Agusintadewi, Kordinator Program Sarjana Senibina.
Antara pengisian lawatan ini adalah perkongsian ilmiah dari pelajar-pelajar penyelidikan bidang Senibina, lawatan ke Kalam Utm, dan sesi Meet & Greet bersama Dekan Fakulti Alam Bina dan Ukur.
