deduces the impact of engineering solutions or research and innovation in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
These photos show our mission, vision, and possible pricing of our proposed product, PaPEELs. The first aim of our product is to introduce a way for agricultural wastes to be reused for something again. After researching, we found papers made from different agricultural wastes. This experience allowed me to see the importance of research in looking for a new proposition to support the innovation and how sourcing locally can reduce the costs of the products by catering to what we have locally, in our case, 2 of the most rampant agricultural waste in the Philippines are bananas and pineapples, as demonstrated by the price of Ranpak vs our proposed price.Â
In line with what we talked about about the Clean Air Act, we all know that manufacturing plants, where most Chemical Engineers work, are possible main contributors to pollution. From our discussion regarding the Clean Air Act, I've learned about how cosmetics may contribute to fine particles that can cause respiratory problems. To mitigate that, other equipment designed by engineers is needed.
In line with the previous discussion regarding spray dryers, most of the energy attributed to the dairy industry stems from spray dryers. In line with this, a proper design of evaporator is needed to concentrate the feed properly which would help the spray dryer not use as much energy.
