Universal Orlando Resort is Going Digital and Saying Goodbye to Paper Maps
Universal Orlando Resort is making a big move towards a more digital experience for guests. Starting January 1, 2024, printed park maps will no longer be available. Instead, the resort is encouraging guests to download the Universal Orlando Resort App to navigate the parks.
Why the change?
Universal says the move is in line with their goal of providing a more seamless and convenient experience for guests. The app will allow guests to do a variety of things, including:
View wait times for rides and attractions
Purchase and redeem select admission tickets
Place mobile food and drink orders
Find restrooms and other park amenities
Set up virtual line reservations for select rides
What if I'm not comfortable using a digital map?
Universal understands that not everyone is comfortable using a digital map. That's why they're still offering a few alternatives:
Guests can download and print maps of the theme parks from UniversalOrlando.com.
They can request a printed map at any Guest Relations desk in the parks.
Tips for using the Universal Orlando Resort App
If you're planning to use the app on your next visit to Universal Orlando, here are a few tips:
Download the app before you go so you don't have to waste time doing it at the park.
Create an account so you can save your favorite rides and attractions.
Familiarize yourself with the app's features before you go so you can use it to its full potential.
Overall, we think this is a positive move for Universal Orlando Resort. The app will make it easier for guests to plan their trip and have a more enjoyable experience. Of course, there will always be some guests who prefer paper maps, but we think the benefits of the app outweigh the drawbacks.
