Universal Orlando Resort has pulled back the curtain on the bloodcurdling horrors that await at Halloween Horror Nights 2023. This year marks a terrifying milestone – the event’s 33rd anniversary – and they're celebrating with an unmatched lineup of scares designed to push your limits. Brace yourself for 48 nights of unrelenting frights spread across 10 haunted houses, 5 spine-tingling scare zones, and electrifying live entertainment. Guests will be able to face some of their fears from August 30th to November 3rd.

This year, Halloween Horror Nights throws you into original stories crafted to terrify your deepest fears. From bone-chilling encounters to nightmarish scenarios, these haunted houses will leave you breathless. Click here to learn more. 

The frights don't end at the haunted houses. Navigate themed scare zones teeming with menacing creatures who thirst for your screams. The air will crackle with tension as you desperately search for an escape.

Premium Scream Night

For the first time ever, Guests can experience Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights before it officially opens with limited-capacity and shorter wait times at an exclusive Premium Scream Night event on Thursday, August 29. Tickets for this unparalleled experience go on sale on Thursday, June 6.

When purchasing a ticket to Premium Scream Night you gain access to things like, 

Tickets for the Halloween Horror Nights Premium Scream Night event are limited and will be available for purchase online beginning June 6 for $350 plus tax. Universal Annual and Seasonal Passholders can purchase tickets for the discounted price of $325 plus tax. 

Scream Early 

Lastly, we'll mention a pass that will get you into the park early so you can get a few rides in before you head to your stay and scream location. Suppose you already have a day ticket to Universal Studios Florida or an annual pass. In that case, this pass is not for you. This ticket is called the Scream Early Ticket. The Scream Early Ticket allows you to enter Universal Studios Florida at 3 pm to enjoy some thrills. You then will head to your stay and scream location before 5 pm(you should arrive at least ten minutes before the park closes). This ticket does not include admission into Halloween Horror Nights. The Early Scream ticket cost $35.00.

Stay and Scream

Enjoy a Scream before everyone else with Stay and Scream. Guests with a valid Scream Early Ticket or another park admission can enter a Stay and Scream location. There are five Stay and Scream locations, Sound Stage 18, New York, Hollywood, Richter's Burger Co, and Central Park. At 5 pm, all Guests must be in their Stay and Scream area, or they could be caught in the park sweep and have to exit the park and wait at the entrance gates. Then, depending on your Stay and Scream Area, Guests can grab a bit of food or sit back and relax until the lines of the respective house in your Stay and Scream area open. Utilizing Stay and Scream Allows but does not guarantee you to enjoy the houses before everyone outside of the park enters. 

Halloween Horror Nights Premier Passholder Nights

Premier Passholders receive one (1) free night admission to Halloween Horror Nights on select nights. To use this entitlement, they must present their valid Premier Annual Pass at any Universal Studios Florida turnstile.

HHN Cabana Bay Experience

If you want something spooky besides the terror within Universal Studios Florida theme park, resort guests can experience a special attraction at Cabana Bay Beach Resort. ​​Starting  Sept 2nd through Oct 31st, guests can keep the screams going beyond Halloween Horror Nights at a Universal Monsters-themed photo gallery experience. This experience is exclusive to Universal Orlando hotel guests. Also available will be the Spooky Swizzle Lounge at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Here guests can have a glass of liquid courage before they enjoy some terrifying thrills. If you're staying at a Universal hotel, you get a dedicated entrance into Halloween Horror Nights. Look for signage outside the gates to direct you to the correct entrance.

Get ready for thrills this fall at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ at Universal Orlando Resort! For the first time ever, from September 1st through November 4th, Death Eaters will be lurking in the shadows of Diagon Alley™.

Feel the chill as these villainous followers of Lord Voldemort, infamous for their dark magic, descend upon the cobblestone streets. Encounter them slithering through Knockturn Alley or casting malevolent glances throughout Diagon Alley as day turns to night.

And for those who dare, embrace your inner darkness with a selection of Death Eater-themed merchandise available for purchase during your visit!

When does Halloween Horror Nights start?

Officially Halloween Horror Nights open to event guests at 6:30 pm but can sometimes open up as early as 6:00.


When does Halloween Horror Nights end?

Halloween Horror Nights will close at 2 am. Check the Offical Universal app or website for correct event hours. 


Are rides still open during Halloween Horror Nights?

Select rides are open during the event, including Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Revenge of the Mummy, MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack, and more. Since there is so much to do at HHN, the wait times are typically short. Make sure to check the Official Universal Orlando Resort Mobile App for ride times. However, keep in mind that these are subject to change without notice.


Can I wear a costume to Halloween Horror Nights?

NO! Don't Do it. You will get sent back by Security to your car to change into regular clothing. This also goes for Horror-themed make-up. Use the general rule that if you look like a scare actor, it's not allowed.
