The University of North Carolina at Pembroke was founded in 1887 and is part of the UNC system, one of the nation’s finest public university systems. UNCP has been named by Princeton Review “Best Colleges: Region by Region” in the Southeastern region for four consecutive years and is also known as one of the safest campuses in the UNC system. UNCP is accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

UNCP is proud of being a university “where learning gets personal,” with a student faculty ratio of 15-1 and an average class size of 20 students. It boasts a student body of 6,200 students from diverse backgrounds and is home to the Museum of the Native Americans Resource Center.

UNCP is just the right size to offer many of the benefits of a larger university, while at the same time offering students a great opportunity to nurture their particular academic interests and aptitudes on a one-on-one basis.

UNCP offers 41 undergraduate programs and 18 graduate programs and all programs of study are open to international students.

All classes are taught by dedicated professors who know their students and care about their academic success. With faculty and staff who take time to get to know you and make you feel welcome, UNCP is the ideal university for international students.
