North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (NC A&T) has a student population of approximately 10,500 making it the largest Historically Black University (HBCU) in the state of North Carolina and the second largest in the United States.

North Carolina A&T is ranked No. 1 in the nation among public historically black colleges and universities (HBCU's) according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 Best Colleges rankings.

A comprehensive university offering degree programs at the baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral levels, it has one of three engineering schools in the University of North Carolina system. NC A&T has one of only two schools of agriculture in North Carolina. Not only does A&T excel in engineering and business but in its award winning theater, dance and journalism programs as well.
