Programs for Exchange Students

Incoming exchange students are able to take courses in most academic departments. However, courses within the College of Veterinary Medicine are not open to exchange students.

Students interested in taking courses within the College of Design must submit a portfolio of 8-10 examples in order to be admitted to courses.

Special considerations for exchange students

When looking at living on-campus, incoming students should consider living in the Global Village. GV is a living and learning housing option at NC State that pairs international students with a U.S. roommate. GV is devoted to introducing exchange students to U.S. culture and exposing U.S. students to other cultures. In Global Village, there are many social and cultural activities with an international theme, and most students find living there to be a very enjoyable part of their experience at NC State.
