Olga Hernandez Villar (Natasha) is a third-year PhD student in the Culture and Teaching (CaT) program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction (CI). Natasha is originally from Mexico and did her bachelor’s training in Social Anthropology at the National School of Anthropology and History of Mexico City. She is interested in Migration and Diaspora, Ethnic Identity, Cultural Studies, and their intersections with Education. The geographic areas of research interest are Latino America and East Asia. She worked at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in the University Program of Studies on Asia and Africa, first as an intern and later promoted to be in charge of academic programming, assisting the program's academic supervisor. She loves animals/pets, especially her 7-year-old cat Mefis. She enjoys spending time with her loved ones, playing video games, taking walks, going to eat, and biking.
