Typically schedules are sent home at the end of June. Official timetables will be available before school starts in September.
What are e-Learning Courses?
e-Learning courses are intended to provide another opportunity to students who are unable to get a course they want or need from their own school.
All Ontario students are expected to complete 2 online eLearning courses to graduate high school. Parents can complete an "opt-out" form to eliminate this requirement.
How do I count volunteer hours?
Starting in July (after you graduate Grade 8), any volunteer hours you complete, get your supervisor to sign the paper form (available on the WHSS website under GUIDANCE).
Hand in your completed paper form to the WHSS main office as soon as you complete a job, even if you don’t have all 40 hours.
Don’t stop volunteering at the mandatory 40 hours; there are scholarship opportunities; experience building skills for resumes and of course the benefits of volunteering service in your community.
Is there Auto-shop class?
Although there is not an auto shop, WHSS has excellent partnerships with the Auto shops/Garages in our communities to offer 2-credit and all-day co-op work experiences in grades 11 and 12.
We also offer Dual-credit opportunities where students can attend Conestoga in their grade 12 year to earn both high school & college credit in various Auto programs such as Automotive Service Technician(Mechanic) or Truck & Coach.
What is dual credit?
It is an opportunity for Grade 12 students to attend College while enrolled in secondary school. Career-focussed programs assist students to make successful transitions to post-secondary after graduation. You will earn credits that count towards your Secondary School Transcript as well as a College Transcript
