French (FSF1D and FSF1O)

Grade 9 FRENCH Courses:

  • ACADEMIC (FSF1D):
    * For students currently taking French in elementary school

* Must take this course to continue in Grade 10 French


  • OPEN (FSF1O):

* For students with little to no French language experience

* For students interested in learning the basics of French and not continuing the study

Geography (CGC1D)

Grade 9 Geography Course: CGC1D (destreamed)

Geography classes at WHSS rock because we:

  • Find out about Canada and the world!

  • Discuss current events

Learn about the weather and predict storms (and bus cancellation days!)

Math (MTH1W and MAT1L)

Grade 9 Math Courses:

  • De-streamed Math 9 (MTH1W) has replaced

  • Academic (MPM1D) and Applied (MFM1P)
    Students will learn new curriculum in Gr 9 to prepare for either the Academic or Applied Math in Grade 10

  • Locally Developed Math 9 (MAT1L) * Must be recommended by Grade 8 SERT and teacher

Grade 9 Science Courses:

  • De-Streamed (SNC1W)

  • Locally Developed (SNC1L) * Must be recommended by Grade 8 SERT and teacher
