My goals in life are to become a mental health counselor, have a nice family when I get older, and be healthy throughout my life overall. Pretty much the American Dream.
I’ve always had an interest in psychology, and developing a stronger understanding of the human mind to better help others going through difficult situations. Members of my family are counselors, which has made me always interested in the field. Completing my time at Wilmington in the University of Delaware’s Associate in Arts Program, will allow me to further pursue this goal, majoring in Psychology at Newark.
Although my career will be helping those struggling, I myself, like all individuals, have to deal with my own struggles as well. I manage my struggles by usually going to the gym and relieving stress because it takes my mind off of anything that I’m thinking about. Also, I like to just take a step back and think about the bigger picture and whether or not this is really going to have an effect on my life.
