Teaching is an integral part of your graduate experience. Here you will find resources to assist you with your TA assignments, as well as your personal pedagogical evolution. The Teaching and Learning Center has some wonderful resources.
TAs have several duties, as explained in the Description of Duties (DoD) sent to you at the time of your appointment.

"Salary point"
Your TA/GSR contract each quarter will state your "salary point." For TAs, "salary point" is determined from the number of quarters of teaching experience at UCSC, as outlined in the following document: UAW Fall 2023 Raises and Article 32A General Wages.
Ensure your salary point on your contract is correct.
Salary
Ensure your salary is correct in UC Path. The UAW Fall 2023 Raises are available. Salaries are updated every academic year following the 2022 strike; expect the union to be in touch about the updated salaries.
From the BX/UAW Contract, Article 32A General Wages: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/wp-content/uploads/labor/bargaining-units/bx/docs/bx_32a-general-wages_2022-2025.pdf
Submit your monthly timesheet in CruzPay -- "workers ultimately voted to discontinue the collective boycott of the monthly leave reporting forms."
We suggest keeping a personal timesheet to keep track of your TA hours to ensure you do not go over your contracted hours. TAs are contracted to work a maximum of 220 hours per quarter and 20 hours per week. Below are examples of timesheets.
You will be asked to grade as a TA. Gradescope is the most efficient and consistent way to grade. If you do not have a rubric, you can use the rubric below, which is intended for quick and coarse grading, by swiftly classifying student work into broad categories ("completely correct", "nearly/mostly correct", "somewhat correct", and "incorrect") and providing a rough guide to point deductions for each category.
For more details on setting up Gradescope and implementing rubrics in Gradescope, see Grading and Rubrics.
