Establishing CA Residency

The Physics Department encourages all out-of-state students to take steps toward establishing CA residency as soon as they arrive.

• The Department pays the first year of Non-Resident Student Tuition (NRST);

• Academic Student Employment (ASE) jobs, like Teaching Assistant (TA) and Graduate Student Research (GSR) do not cover NRST.

• Establishing CA residency is needed to avoid being assessed for NRST in subsequent years.
