SAFE Team (After Hours Campus Escort)

For those who are on campus during evening and night hours, the Student Assistant Foot Patrol and Escort (SAFE) Team members patrol the campus on foot. They will provide a walking escort from building exit to building entrance or campus parking areas. The SAFE Team is in operation seven nights per week during the regular academic year when classes are in session from 6 p.m. – 3 a.m. with extended hours on weekends.

To request a SAFE Team escort, call 660-543-4123.

Keys & Building Access

Keys (and key fobs for electronic entry) are requested by your office professional.

When your keys are ready, you will get an email from the Office of Access Control. All keys must be signed for and picked up in person at Access Control (no proxies will be accepted), Public Safety Office, 306 Broad Street, Warrensburg. Keep close track of your key(s) as Access Control imposes substantial fines for lost keys ($100/door or more)

You should not need keys if you are teaching at the Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC) in Lee's Summit.

All adjunct faculty are issued keys on a semester-by-semester basis. For adjuncts who are scheduled to teach more than one semester in a row, keys will be renewed prior to the end of the current. Adjuncts are not permitted to have permanent key issuance.

NEW!

UCM has transitioned to an all-electronic building access system. This means that all faculty and staff (and select students) have been issued a means of accessing the outside door for certain buildings during specific operating hours.

For more information, please contact Access Control at 660-543-4101 or visit their website (https://www.ucmo.edu/public-safety/access-control/).

Parking on Campus

Parking is available both on and off campus. On-campus parking requires a parking permit, which may be purchased at the Public Safety Office at 306 E Broad St. or requested online through MyCentral. Fees may be paid at the Public Safety Office or can be deducted in installments from your paycheck. For questions about parking on campus, please call Parking Services at 660-543-4098.

IMPORTANT: New for 2024-2025 - faculty/staff parking - your license plate is your permit. Be sure your vehicle(s) is/are on your Public Safety account. You can check this through MyCentral.

Parking Services Website: https://www.ucmo.edu/public-safety/parking-services/

Free, off-campus parking is available on streets adjacent to the North, South, East, and West of campus on a first-come, first-served basis. Regardless of where you park, please note that UCM is not responsible for your vehicle or any personal belongings left in your car. Additionally, vehicles will be towed at the vehicle owner's expense if parked in privately owned spaces.

Lockouts and Other Vehicle Problems

Campus police will not assist with lockout issues, even if you are parked on campus. They will, however, assist with other vehicle problems that occur on campus. For vehicles parked off-campus, you will need to contact the Warrensburg Police Department.

Public Safety can be reached at 660-543-4123.

The Warrensburg Police Department's non-emergency number is 660-747-2265.
