When I am not working, I take joy in engaging myself as much as possible with my local community through attending local events, collaborating with local artists on communal pieces, and spending most Saturday mornings taking in conversation at local coffee shops. I can also often be found listening to true crime podcasts and tinkering with developing (I use that term loosely) homemade fidgets to give to friends and clients. But no matter what I am doing, you will always see me with a double double and a salty snack within arms reach. I am lover of all things crafty, caffeinated, and related to Halloween.
Throughout my academic career I have been lucky enough to work on an eclectic array of research projects, from developing new eye-witness interviewing techniques, to teaching young children memory strategies, to critically analyzing what it means to measure outcomes in varying therapeutic settings. In doing so, I gained a passion for several topics and methods of research. In particular, I very much enjoy learning about and studying the lives and stories of at-risk youth and those within their varying systems (e.g., home, school, community). As this area of research is so rich, I doubt I will ever tire of it.
