Outside of school and work, I like to be in the sunshine. We go riverboating whenever and wherever we can, though primarily in BC and AB. I also enjoy travelling more broadly. Great food makes me very happy and I enjoy trying new things. Family is important to me so we ensure to gather when we can, whether here in Alberta or where I grew up in BC.
My personal, research, and clinical experiences have all shaped my research interests. At this point in time, my passions are centred in continuing to evolve assessment practices to ensure they are done in a good way. A question that guides this work is, How do we know we are working with people in a way that ensures the most beneficial outcomes and the least potential for harm? As a woman of settler and Indigenous heritage, I am particularly passionate about learning with and from Indigenous youths, parents, caregivers, Knowledge Keepers, and Elders about how to work in a good way. I thoroughly enjoy engaging in community-based research centred in relational engagement.
