Outside of academia I am often found next to one of my 5 cats (no, that is not a typo - you read correctly!) with a good book in hand, hanging out with my family, or having a walk outside and being present in nature. The things that bring my heart contentment are: animals, nature, books, and Halloween!
Initially starting off as wanting to be a veterinarian (and quickly realizing that I do not possess the heart for it!), I veered into the field of psychology as I knew at my core that I always wanted to help and provide comfort, along with the fact that I am a people person. I chose the ACCERT lab as the interdisciplinary and collaborative approach caught my attention as I find myself interested in many branches of psychology and research. This lab is the best place to harness my ideas/excitement into something of significant value and I am grateful to have come across it and be among like-minded peers.
I am currently working on the Mental Health & Youth research team as I tackle my Honors thesis for my Bachelors of Science degree under the supervision of Dr. Pei. I am also a reviewer for the UofA Undergraduate Science Journal "Eureka!" and volunteer at the Centre for Autism Services in Alberta outside of university.
