Qualification –Statement of Attainment or Cert III in Live Production and Services
Work placement – 70 hours mandatory e.g. Splendour, NORPA, Lantern etc
Assist with bump in and bump out of shows
Provide first aid (First Aid Cert.)
Participate in collaborative creative projects
Organise personal work priorities and development
Operate basic lighting
Operate vision systems (film etc.)
Undertake live audio operations
Assist with production operations for live performance
Work effectively in the creative arts industry
Provide service to customers
Work safely in the construction industry (WHS White Card)
Follow occupational health and safety procedures
This is a growing industry with an annual turnover of $14 billion. The Arts and Entertainment make a significant contribution to the nation’s economy, both in terms of consumer expenditure and employment opportunities.
A taster of occupations you can aim for in the Entertainment industry: visual/audio technician lighting designer or technician sound engineer dresser or costume assistant scenic artist cinema projectionist set maker/builder props designer technical supervisor in any field stage manager film maker TV broadcasting operations manager event coordinator or manager tour manager .....just to list a few!
