The oceans cover more than 70% of the Earth's surface and influence all forms of life on this planet
The oceans are viewed both as areas rich in mineral and marine life for human needs, and as repositories for agricultural, industrial and domestic waste
Marine studies provides an opportunity for students to study and appreciate the value of the marine environment, and to develop the necessary skills required for the use and protection of marine ecosystems
