English Extension

English Extension is designed for students undertaking English Advanced who choose to study at a more intensive level in diverse but specific areas. They enjoy engaging with complex levels of conceptualisation and seek the opportunity to work in increasingly independent ways.

Should I do English Extension 1?

• I have selected Advanced English

• I have a passion for English and literature and have an A or high B in Y10 English

• I am a skilled writer who is keen to continue to develop in this area

• I am a confident speaker

• I am self‐motivated and have well developed organisational skills

• I am prepared to work independently and am a keen reader of a variety of texts

• I would like to select Extension 2 English in Year 12

• I am interested in tertiary studies in literature or the humanities

• I understand there is a requirement for extensive critical reading and independent investigation
