addy schnepel

Full Name: Addison Ryley Schnepel

Nickname:  Addy

Parents: Erica and Clark Schnepel

Siblings: Luke (25), Sydney (22) and Sophie (14)

Parent/Sibling Trait that you Admire: I admire how my mom always speaks her truth, and isn't afraid to stand against the masses. I admire my dad's hard-working spirit.

When I was young, I envisioned myself to be: A veterinarian.

Future Plans: I will be going to the University of Iowa this fall to study theater or pre-med.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years: I see myself either in residency or in Hollywood.

What is your most memorable moment from school years at Treynor: My most memorable moment from high school would have to be going to All-State speech in large group and individual, and getting to go with the amazing friends I made through speech. I'm so proud of and grateful for the experience and the people I shared it with.

What extra-curricular activities were you involved in at Treynor? Over the years I was involved in large group speech, individual speech, choir, jazz choir, improv, the musicals, JOI club, National Honor Society, GSA, KKAD25, Youth Leadership CB, soccer, and yearbook.

If you have a day without commitments, what would you most likely be doing? I would be hanging out with friends, watching movies, playing cards with my family, baking, playing video games, or, most likely, sleeping.

What are some of your favorites (e.g. books, movies, foods)? My top choice for movies has to be Daddy Daycare, but I love Disney movies in general. My top shows are The Office and Spongebob Squarepants; and my favorite books are the Hunger Games series. My favorite food is shrimp scampi or my grandma's "spiders". My favorite artists are Doja Cat and Girl in Red. My favorite Starbucks Drink is an iced chai tea latte.

What will you miss most about THS? Definitely the people. I could go to any high school and be involved in speech, choir, etc; but Treynor is the only place to do it with the amazing people I've met here. I'm so grateful for all of the amazing classmates, teachers, and coaches I've met in my time here, and I'm grateful for what they've taught me and how they've shaped me into the person I am today.

What advice would you give underclassmen? Have fun. Don't stress about the little things. High school is too short to spend it worrying- focus on the positives, and do what makes you happy and what you have fun doing. Also, try everything! You'll never know if you love something until you try it. I met some of my favorite people ever by getting involved and trying new things.
