Doubled Doubt
I have seen the avid allure of the abyss.
It's watching, waiting, weeping on the wayside.
Scouring, searching for any semblance of sense.
And yet it finds none.
And I have seen the secrets buried by the sorrow of the self;
Decades of despair drowning the dreamer's dance.
As all that's left in absence is apathy,
And yet they push on.
And I have seen the meeting of both margins,
Culminating in a crucial crux of comparison.
Neither knows the other's notions,
And yet they are the same.
