This is the text that made the relationship not happen,

where the boy simply got a reply from me

that said no thanks.

This is the text where a boy invited me 

to go on a second date,

after I found out he lied

about his relationship status on the first date.

I was laying in bed,

in my dark room,

ready to go to bed but something kept me awake.

I looked at my bright screen,

Re-reading the message several times.

Thinking about how much fun we had

and for maybe a second,

I thought I could say yes.

Finding out he lied stirred such an unsettling 

feeling inside me,

and he still had the audacity to ask me 

on a second date.

I felt knots 

form in my stomach. 

And the right thing to do

was say no thanks.
