Literacy:
L.O. To write a character description.
Yesterday we looked at the character of Scrooge from our new book ‘A Christmas Carol’. We thought about what he was like on the inside and the outside - his character and appearance.
Task: Write a paragraph to describe Scrooge. Think about describing his appearance and character. Try to use interesting vocabulary which will paint a picture for the reader.
Maths:
Log onto times table rockstars to practise your times tables. You might find that there are other people from the class online as well so you can challenge each other!
Column addition and subtraction:
Have a look at these examples to remind you of the rules for using the column method.
Task: Estimate the answers to each question first, then use the column method to calculate the answer. Were you close with your estimate? The answers are on the next page so you can check your work and correct any errors.
Science:
To research the scientist Isaac Newton.
We have been learning all about forces in our science lessons. In class tomorrow, you will be working with your partner to create a poster about Isaac Newton.
Task: use the internet, or a book if you have one, to research Isaac Newton and record any interesting facts or information ready to include on your poster tomorrow.
