Special Education Needs and Disabilities

At Ore Village Primary Academy we expect all children, including those with SEN and disabilities, to achieve and make progress in line with the achievements and progress of all other children within the school; and those nationally.

The SEN Code of Practice says that:

A child or young person has SEN if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her.

A child of compulsory school age or a young person has a learning difficulty or disability if he or she:

A child under compulsory school age has special educational needs if he or she is likely to fall within the definition above when they reach compulsory school age or would do so if special educational provision was not made for them.

There are four broad categories of SEN:

Our SENCo is Mr Stephen Tippett who can be contacted via the school office on 01424 422979 or by email at senco@ovpa-tkat.org
