Year 5 and 6 will be investigating CRIME AND PUNISHMENT. They will start the topic by looking at crime and punishment since Roman times. They’ll move to thinking about how some crimes are consistent through the ages and some are dependent on societal beliefs about right and wrong. They will then focus on Sir Robert Peel and his drive for a professional police force in the Victorian era and how that influenced policing across the globe today.
