Admissions

Ore Village Primary Academy is part of The Kemnal Academies Trust and has Academy status. Therefore the Academy Trust is the admission authority for the school.

Our policy was updated in July 2021 to be compliant with the Admissions Code which came into force on September 2021, to expand upon the criteria giving priority to previously looked after children

The school will admit up to 60 Reception year pupils each September.

In-Year Admissions

An in-year admission is defined as the admission of a pupil to a school which takes place outside the normal entry times. This includes pupils changing schools, pupils coming from a different country or from other parts of the UK, pupils returning to a school from living elsewhere or those who have not been in school. You can ask for your child to change schools at any stage in your child’s education.

Application process

You should apply online at Apply for a school place.

Your application will be shared with your preferred school(s) so they can check if they have a place for your child. You will be asked to provide the name of your child’s current school or the school he or she last attended. If you can’t find the details of that school, skip to the next part of the application by leaving the field set to ‘Select current school’.

Starting school - summer-born children

Parents of children born between 1 April and 31 August have the option to delay their entry until the following September. To find out if this is the best option for your child:

Your appeal request should state your reasons for your request and any additional information/documentation/appendices should be submitted five days before the Hearing to allow time for it to be copied and distributed to all the interested parties. At least 10 working days before your appeal, unless you choose to waive this right, you will be sent detailed information regarding the process and also the date and names of the independent panel members who will hear the appeal.

The school is unable to guarantee that any original work/evidence/folders, submitted as part of the appeal, will be returned. Appellants may wish to submit copies in advance and then take important original documents verifying evidence to the appeal.
