At Mountbatten we pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of uniform for PE lessons and extra curricular activities. However, we are aware that in the current cost of living crisis uniform and PE kit costs are increasing. We have taken the decision to support families with these costs by changing our PE kit from September 2023 for upcoming Year 7 students.
All current Year 8-11 students can continue to wear the blue PE kit from Skoolkit for the remainder of their time at the school however Skoolkit will no longer be selling this kit from this point on. However, we do have some surplus and preloved stock at school which can be purchased from the preloved store. If you wish to do this then contact the school directly for further information. info@mountbatten.school
All of the changes to PE kit are to reduce the cost to families and by making these changes we are reducing costs by 40%.

The PE Faculty are constantly looking at ways to develop team sport at Mountbatten.
Over the last few years, we have been focusing on increasing the profile of our teams and in turn, the success they have. We have been fortunate enough to experience success across a number of sports and now we wish to develop the profile of our teams further by continuing to have bespoke team kits.
We have created a new link with Serious Sport who will be our main team kit provider for September 2023.
We will have team kits for Football, Rugby, Netball and Athletics so if your child represents Mountbatten School in one of those sports they will be provided with kit.
The kits will be sustainable over time and give us an opportunity for students to purchase their own personalized team kit. All students will be able to keep their personalized kit for match days and for the duration of their time at Mountbatten.
Serious Sport have set up a Team Shop for Mountbatten School and this gives all students the opportunity to purchase their own personalised team kit direct from the provider. If purchased this will be manufactured and sent directly to your house.
We will also be offering students the opportunity to purchase other garments like accredited course t shirts (Year 10 & 11 students) and training garments. Once again if ordered these will be sent directly to your house.

Much like a calculator in Maths or a Pen in English, your PE kit is part of the essential equipment needed to take part in your PE lesson. We ask that students bring all of their PE kit needed for each PE lesson.
We understand that from time to time kit may be forgotten. It is important that students do not worry and that we can still provide them with the kit needed to take part in their PE lesson. However, there are some procedures and policies that the students will need to consider if forgetting their kit becomes a regular occurrence.
Once in the changing rooms/registration area students must bring their planner to the PE Office and see Mr Samuels
Mr Samuels will keep the planner as a deposit for borrowed kit from the faculty supply. Please be aware that we have a range of sizes and each item is washed and dried after each use
Students will then borrow the kit required for their lesson
Mr Samuels will demerit your child on Epraise but not issue them a detention. Their name will be recorded on our internal system.
After the lesson, once changed, the kit will be return to the PE Office and return their kit and will be handed their planner back.
If your child continues to forget kit throughout the year the same procedure above will be applied. However, on the second occasion this will be followed up with a phone home. If they forget kit for a third occasion then they will be issued a lunchtime detention.
Yes
If you are injured or cannot take part physically in the lesson you will require a note from your parents in the student planner.
Kit must be worn. The reason for this is that students may be able to take part in the lesson in other ways such as an official or coach. They may also be outside and if the weather is poor then this means uniform does not get ruined.
In some cases PE staff will ask students not to change, based upon the injury sustained. It is important that all students do bring their PE kit regardless.
