We follow the AQA syllabus of the very popular GCSE Physical Education course (course code 8582). The course is taught over 2 years starting in year 10 and ending with the 2 compulsory examinations taken in the summer of year 11.

Performance in 3 sports and a piece of analysis and evaluation coursework
Performance in Sports
You will be assessed on your performance in 3 different sports.
1 individual sport
1 team sport
1 either team or individual
25 marks will be allocated (10 skills and 15 for impact in competitive setting)
IF your sport cannot be assessed in school or you compete at a much higher level outside of school, detailed video footage must be obtained.
There will be a formal moderation process where an examiner will visit the school to view student performance.
Coursework Task
Picking one of your chosen sports, you will complete a full analysis of your performance.
You will then design a training programme to make improvements to your performance.
This will be completed at the end of year 10.
