It is likely that by creating your first layout, you are becoming aware of issues that need resolving, such as sequences not working together, images not fitting quite right together or not communicating your idea effectively. For many of you, your work will have shifted and developed in ways you didn’t expect. This is good, it means you are working in an authentic manner. This is also the perfect time to re-evaluate and clarify your theme….what is my work really about? What am I exploring or what do I want to explore in particular. Where do I want to go with this for my portfolio and which ideas have the most possibilities for development.

Include:
A written paragraph outlining/clarifying your idea.
• New brain storm
• Visual examples from key artists that you want to continue using.
• Pictorial/ compositional focus
• Technical focus
• Ideas for possible development and subsequent shoots.
This page could be a cut and paste of existing research, where you are discarding ideas that don’t serve your purpose and focusing on the ideas that do. It should also be more in-depth, purposeful and refined than your original proposal, with a clear pictorial/compositional focus now outlined.
