Working from your shoot plan complete multiple shoots exploring your ideas. You are required to make minimum of 1 slide per idea, ie: minimum of 9 slides (not including proof sheets).
You should aim to produce a broad range of images.
For each idea, you should shoot approx. 5 -8 images. These shoots are not intended to be completed all at once. Shoot each idea seperately over a period of time. This way you will give each idea your full attention and hopefully make more interesting work.
REMEMBER – YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS SHOULD BE WELL CONSIDERED, USE ARTIST MODELS, SHOW GOOD COMPOSITIONAL UNDERSTANDING AND CLEAR TECHNICAL INTENTIONS BUT YOU ARE NOT AIMING TO CREATE PERFECT IMAGES. YOUR AIM IS TO GATHER A CONSIDERED RANGE OF IMAGES RELATED TO YOUR THEME SO THAT YOU CAN FIND THE RIGHT STYLE, AESTHETIC AND IDEAS FOR YOU.
You are expected to do minimum of 1 slide of proof sheets each week (due on Tuesdays) and IDENTIFY the most successful images each week by grouping and annotating these on a separate slide. These groups are called "sequences".
Look how the above students work has used all the conventions of photography to incorporate the figure into the school environment. Note how the student is controlling the line, texture, reflection, pattern, balance, tension, contrast, foreground/background, depth of field (shallow, mid, far), shutter speed (fast, slow), viewpoints, framing, light direction, leading lines, rule of thirds, focal point
Use this tutorial for making contact sheets on photoshop
This is an example of a contact sheet by a student for one idea. Note how many shots are taken in one shoot. Always aim to take as many shots from as many diverse angles, using as many different conventions of photography as you can.
To contact sheet your work place all your shoot images in 1 file on your computer. In photoshop click on edit - automate - choose contact sheet. In the window that opens choose how many columns and rows and what file the images are coming from, then create! Easy.
Select the most successful sequences and arrange onto a new slide or slides titled "selected final work".
