All District Computers Need to be Updated.
WEDNESDAY WORKSTATION WIND DOWN
Complete the following steps on Wednesdays before you leave & shut down your devices for the night/leave for the day:
**Make sure that you do these steps at least thirty minutes before you leave as the updates/cleaning cache can take up to an hour.
This will likely fix many of the video and sound issues that we have been having! I would wait until you are done with students for today to complete this, as it takes a while and could restart without warning.
Step 1: Search for “update” in the search box at the bottom left of your screen.
Step 2:
Click Check for Updates.
Step 3:
Be sure you’re on the Windows Update page and click on “Check online for updates from Microsoft Update”
Step 4:
A bunch of stuff will begin to download. This took about 15 minutes for me. I was able to still work while things downloaded, but when it was ready to restart, my screen went black without warning then came back on.
Step 5:
At this point, you’ll need to let everything finish installing and your computer will let you know when it needs to restart (or it may just restart automatically).
