Copiers/Printers

Staff: Print Servers are being rebuilt following the malware attack this past Spring. In order to use the main printer/copier on campus, you MUST complete these steps:

  1. Install the new Xerox driver on your FWISD laptop/desktop computer.

  2. Register your FWISD badge with the Xerox Copier/Printer in the staff lounge.

When a user is having an issue with PaperCut or a Xerox badge reader:

The user will submit a request to appsupportsw@xerox.com and include the following information in the email. This will create a service ticket and allow direct communication between an analyst and the user.

o The Subject Line should contain a short summary of the issue ex. Subject: FWISD Badge will not authenticate

o User’s name, phone number, & email:

o Model and Equipment ID of device exhibiting issue:

o When the issue began:

o How many users are experiencing the issue:

o Description of issue:


Here are the directions for loading the library printer on you computer :

1) Search for ‘Printer’ in the search bar bottom left

The Lexmark C746 (color printer) in the Library is now configured and ready for printing.

1 To add the driver and queue to your computer, you will need to click the little up arrow at the bottom right near the clock on your computer.

2 From the up arrow, find the PaperCut Print Deploy icon. (It looks like a copier)

3 Then click View my printers

Remember, these will only show up when you are connected to the internet at your campus.

This app looks for the internet every 15 minutes, so will show you printers available at whatever campus you may visit.

4 When the app pops up, click “Add Printers” and you should see your Lexmark available (name is 026-LIB-L746). Just click to install.

5 When you are ready to print a document, make sure that you are clicking the right printer driver in your printer menu (026-LIB-L746):




Some Things to Remember: From Mary

--The Xerox (black and white only) printer in the teacher’s lounge should be your default printer as the money for the library printer ink cartridges comes out of our school budget (which is very limited).

--It is okay that the printer says, “Toner/Ink Low” because I monitor the quality of the color printing and when it starts to affect the ink quality, I will replace it. We try to “squeeze out” as much ink as we can.

--Please only use the color printer for school-use print jobs. No personal print jobs please.

--Please remove backgrounds on flyers or images. Full ink backgrounds drain the ink cartridges quickly.
