Final Report and Request for Reimbursement Form

Minnesota's Center for the Book maintains a Minnesota Writers Directory.   The application and final report form provided below can be used with any author in the directory. Please be aware that neither Minnesota's Center for the Book not TdS is recommending these authors as programs; the list and application materials is provided here to simplify your process. 

You can use the directory to identify an author you would like to host, and then connect with them to arrange the details, including cost.  Authors vary in their ability to travel, their cost, and their requirements.  Some of the authors in the catalog are experienced with library programs, many are not, so please take the time to set expectations. Consider asking for and checking a recent speaking engagement reference before booking. These authors do not have a specific agreement with TdS unless they are also listed as an individual author in our catalog. 

Suggested points to cover:

• Cost. Best is a flat all-inclusive fee. Try to avoid paying for lodging or travel or meals separately from a speakers fee as these can vary and lead to disagreements.

• Performance details. Arrival time, length and content of presentation, any expectations regarding follow up questions, book signings, when they are finished and can leave, any requirements regarding room set-up ie microphones, tables.

• Expected audience. Describe the audience and expected numbers.

• Any requests you have regarding content of the presentation.

• Any recording or filming expectations. Can you live stream, can people take pictures etc.
